Rebekah Reid trained at the Legat School of Classical Ballet and at Ballet West in Scotland.  Whilst there she completed all her RAD exams with distinction and was awarded the Adelene Calder Memorial Scholarship for best Scottish Dancer. She also competed in the prestigious Adelene Genee Awards.

 

 In her graduate year at Ballet West she toured Scotland

with the Graduate touring company. She then worked in the Uk with companies such as The Curve Foundation, performing contemporary works by Henri Ougike and Rui Graca, and russian classics with The Swansea Ballet Russe.

 

Rebekah was then offered a postion abroad with The Slovenian National Ballet, Ljubljana where she danced classical repertoire including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juilet, La Bayadere and works of acclaimed international

choreographers such as George Balanchine, Uwe Scholtz, Yuri Vamos and Hans Van Manen. Whilst in Slovenia she guested with Slovenian National Ballet, Maribor in Swan Lake and La Bayadere.

 

Rebekah then moved to Egypt where she

 was engaged as a  Soloist in the Cairo Opera Ballet. Whilst there she performed soloist roles

in classical repertoire including the Pas de Trois, Big Swans and the Mazurka in Swan Lake and the Spanish Dancer, soloist Snowflake and Flower in

The Nutcracker. She also performed soloist roles in neo-classical works in pieces by choreographers such as Maurice Bejart and Theirry Malandin.

 

Rebekah holds her Professional Dance Teachers Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance with Distinction and has most recently been working as a freelance ballet teacher in the London area.

 

She has guest taught in many countries including Spain,

Slovenia and the Canary Islands teaching ballet and Pilates.

 

Rebekah recently developed her career path by training on the Alan Herdmans Pilates Teaching Training Course in London fufilling a long term desire to build upon and share her love of Pilates with others.  Here she recieved her full mat and equipment certification with an interest in rehabilitation. 
During the recent pregnacy of her daughter she furthered her interest in pre and post natal Pilates which she now would love to share with other mothers.
